Description:
This project deals with the current state of web analytics in many institutions, where several problems occur when using Google Analytics. Besides the need to switch to a new version of Google Analytics with the risk of data loss or with the question of accuracy of measured data, the main issue is the legal compliance of the operation of this service with the GDPR in the European area. The aim is to test the possibility of switching to the alternative tool Matomo, its pilot testing and the design of an operational model as a potential multitenant service operated by the association CESNET. Furthermore, to evaluate the advantages or disadvantages of the new solution, to propose different levels of configuration for individual users and to propose possible models of running it as a service.
